Rigging Technical Artist

Bungie is looking for a talented Rigging Technical Artist to join our weapons and armor team! As a Rigging Technical Artist you will be on the front lines of art and technology development. You will implement skinning and deformation for 3D content, drive innovative new workflows, evangelize new methods of content creation and raise the bar on the range of artistic possibilities at Bungie. You will further empower our external partners to create content in a stable tools ecosystem.



  • Skin weighting and dynamic cloth setup
  • Acquire a deep understanding of our engine and related tools/processes
  • Operation of Bungie’s proprietary rigging system and DCC tools and technology
  • Collaboration with Character 3D Art, Hard-Surface 3D Art, Animation and Design
  • Seek out and develop improved methods of content creation
  • Quality assurance for 3D art and animation content
  • Provide desk side support for Artists, Animators and Designers
  • Develop and maintain tools pipelines, supporting artists working efficiently
  • Support and build efficiency around the integration of content from external partners

Required Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of DCC Packages (Max or Maya preferred)
  • Programming experience (Python preferred)
  • Proficiency at skinning and Rigging in Autodesk Maya or equivalent software
  • Solid understanding of modern game creation processes
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with little supervision
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with both internal and external partners
  • Interest in supporting and enabling others
  • Professional game development experience
