Gameplay Engineer (Incubation)

As a Gameplay Engineer at Bungie, you will play an integral role in bridging the last mile technology between design, art, and the shipping game. You’ll be involved in prototyping new game mechanics, architecting new gameplay systems, researching game technology and engineering - whatever it takes to make a great game. Most importantly, you will work with a fun, dedicated, and energetic team devoted to creating world-class gaming experiences.


  • Build and maintain production-quality code using C++
  • Write software within a diverse set of systems: weapons sandbox, player controls, UI, online services, player progression, etc
  • Collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team to build amazing new gameplay experiences
  • With minimal oversight, design and build new technologies, systems and gameplay

Required Skills

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • 3+ years of professional game development experience using C++
  • Comfortable with change and building throwaway work
  • Strong teamwork skills along with the independence to make things happen
  • Strong math background (trigonometry, linear algebra, calculus, etc.)

Nice To Have Skills

  • Experience with game middleware (e.g. Havok, Unity, Unreal, Playfab, Gamesparks)
  • Experience working on networked gameplay
