Are you drawn to game design? Do you seek an opportunity where you can combine your programming experience with your game design talent to solve challenging and interesting problems? If so, we have the job for you! Bungie is looking for a creative and hard-working Technical Designer for our next project.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily a game design role, but if needed you must be able to perform the duties of a software engineer
  • Be the liaison between designers, VFX artists, and engineers
  • Set requirements for content editing and event scripting tools
  • Cleanly implement organized content with our designer tools and scripting language
  • Implement content that stretches the capability of existing systems
  • Help designers build experiences, gameplay objects, and set pieces by exposing a script API, and providing art hooks for our VFX artists
  • Track down problems in current systems, predict problems in developing systems, produce test cases, and implement fixes in systems and tools

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of 3D packages (Max, Maya)
  • Reasonable knowledge of multiple programming languages (like C/C++/C#, or Java)
  • Able to define and maintain production pipelines and workflows
  • Design instincts and an understanding of how core systems effects gameplay
  • Willingness to take design direction, and collaborate with different disciplines
  • Sociable, and excited about sharing information

Nice To Have Skills

  • General knowledge of animation authoring pipelines
  • Technical Degree (CS, IT, SE, CE, or equivalent work experience)
