 As a Senior IT Engineer at Bungie, you will architect, implement, and support technology solutions for our studio & datacenter operations, global partner integrations, and customer facing production systems. You’ll work with a team of highly experienced IT engineers to continuously improve and evolve our technology infrastructures to ensure Bungie remains at the pinnacle of entertainment companies.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, deploy, and maintain cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Linux solutions in a team-based environment
  • Build out Linux server and automation infrastructure to support various projects
  • Work with team members to troubleshoot complex issues and work with lower tier support on escalations
  • Assist with ongoing training for our IT Support team and cross training for IT Engineering team members
  • Research, selection, planning, and implementation of new technologies to support scaling of applications to meet customer and business needs
  • Develop tools and scripts to assist with routine maintenance tasks
  • Manage Linux and related open source systems (apache, bind, postfix, memcache, mysql, postgresql, etc.)
  • Plan and support the implementation of major architectural changes
  • Maintain site servers and hosted web applications and ensure up-time and website responsiveness
  • Support for all related products and triage any issues that come up
  • Maintain documentation of systems and processes

Required Skills

  • Linux Server Administration at scale, experience with package and source management, security best practices, automation and tooling (Git, Ansible, etc), performance tuning, and hardware troubleshooting
  • Architecting Public Cloud environments at scale, including AZ/region planning, network connectivity design, lifecycle management, performance troubleshooting, automation and tooling
  • Hardware scaling for clustered services
  • Technical proficiency in most of these areas and products: Public Cloud, Linux, Monitoring, SSL/Certificates, Performance Tuning, Automation tools (like Terraform, Ansible, or others), DNS, network troubleshooting
  • System administration experience including: experience operating a large-scale, 24×7 web environment, experience with Linux or other Unix based operating system, and experience supporting multiple Apache servers
  • Working knowledge of core Internet protocols and services (e.g., IP, TCP, UDP, NTP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSH, syslog) required
  • Strong experience with and understanding of virtualization (VMware, Xen, etc.)
  • Experience with Active Directory and related protocols desired (e.g. Kerberos, LDAP, NTP, Samba, etc.)
  • Strong organization, planning and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to describe in detail the steps and approach taken to complete your tasks
  • Knowledge of datacenter and live production best practices and experience working in live high availability customer facing production environments
  • Working with multiple vendors to select and test new technology, including sourcing demo and try buy gear

Nice To Have Skills

  • Experience with integration of open source operating systems and projects in a Windows and Active Directory environment
  • Familiarity with various network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, A10, Arista, etc)
  • Information security experience
  • Container / K8S experience
  • SQL Management and Administration
