Release Manager

As a Release Manager at Bungie you will play a critical role in managing our digital storefront presence and releasing our games and updates on multiple gaming platforms. You'll work with teams across the studio to schedule and shepherd the product through certification passes and release in different environments. You'll continually find ways to improve our current processes, making them more efficient, reliable, sustainable, and adaptable.

You will act as a communications conduit for platform-specific release issues, providing status to Bungie stakeholders and engaging dev team fire-fighters until all issues are resolved. You'll also work with external partners as needed to ensure that all of our releases go as planned, regardless of the platform. As we learn from each release you'll also recommend and implement processes and automation to maintain or raise the high bar for launch smoothness.


  • Work with internal and external partners to setup products, bundles, and offers in platform stores
  • Ensure on-time and successful digital store updates through planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and coordinating all necessary work within the studio and with external partners
  • Coordinate and communicate status of releases
  • Run build process to produce releasable packages and archives
  • Support Test, Player Support and others as needed for builds, packages, investigations, etc.
  • Coordinate internal ordering and distribution of digital codes/physical discs as needed
  • Write, update, or maintain tools and scripts as needed to improve release pipeline

Required Skills

  • Experience managing digital storefronts, digital supply chains, metadata management, and/or game publishing
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both verbal and written skills with team members across the studio and with external partners
  • Drive for completion of any task at an exceptional quality bar, whether at an individual or team level
  • Highly adaptable to a variety of situations and curious about potential improvements
  • Flexibility with schedule during game and patch release windows, including some on-call work
  • Ability to coordinate with internal multiple teams across the studio and effectively prioritize tasks
  • Ability to quickly solve or seek the solution to problems in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Detail-oriented, focused, and composed under pressure
  • Proficiency with current Microsoft consumer level products (e.g. Office 2016 and Windows 10)

Nice To Have Skills

  • Experience shipping titles for PS4, Xbox One, PC
  • Experience shipping a Games-as-a-Service title over multiple releases
  • Experience with the SDK development tools and release processes for console/PC platforms
  • Experience with mobile app stores
  • Programming/scripting experience to automate repetitive tasks; C#, PowerShell, or JavaScript preferred
