Incubation Senior UX Designer

Do you have a dedicated interest in the intersection of good UX and game design? Do engaging interactions, clear affordances and robust accessibility features bring you joy? Would you like to work on a small team building a new IP, helping to build a team culture that values the principles of good UX? As an Incubation UX Designer at Bungie, you’ll contribute to every facet of a new game experience, from player facing systems to content creator workflows. You’ll craft the UX pillars for the project and help the team view design problems through the lens of proven UX principles. You’ll also help grow and guide a team capable of implementing robust, cross-platform UI features.


  • Develop and evangelize UX pillars, strategies, and standards for a new team and IP
  • Bring the perspective of a UX expert to the project’s core design team
  • Use wireframes, mockups, storyboards, and other UX methodologies to help convert design challenges into viable solutions for player-facing experiences and internal workflows
  • Raise awareness of accessibility issues and advocate for accessibility features
  • Leverage analytics and user research to ensure we’re making the most informed decisions
  • Prototype implementations of UI/UX features

Required Skills

  • Experience or education in the field of UX or Product Design, preferably on a range of large-scale, consumer-facing products, with a UX portfolio to share
  • Effective collaborator: You know how to move a design forward with your team and in discussions with stakeholders using solid and proven collaboration methods
  • Empathetic communicator: You communicate in a clear and focused manner to inspire teams to consider UX in their designs and present designs to stakeholders effectively
  • User-Centered Design advocate: You are a committed believer in putting the user needs at the center of all phases of the design process and feature development and you advocate for identifying the core needs of the users in all design discussions
  • Growth mindset: With a solid knowledge foundation in the design tools in your kit (e.g. wireframes, personas, journey mapping, information architecture, interaction design, and prototyping), you're always working to improve your skills and evolve design thinking practices
  • Holistic thinker: You cultivate an awareness about how each feature fits into the broader product design, and you can use this to make effective prioritization decisions

Nice To Have Skills

  • Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User-Centered Design, Cognitive Science or equivalent
  • Experience implementing UI features in Unreal, Unity, or other game engine
  • Previous working experience in games across multiple platforms
  • Interest in games with strong creative and social dynamics
