As the QA Director on an unannounced Incubation project at Bungie, you'll be a key driver in helping define, measure, and take action on the quality of the product. To do that, you'll collaborate closely with other members of the project leadership team to build a holistic Test strategy that holds the team accountable to healthy, effective, development practices. You'll ensure that diverse perspectives are included in every conversation and invest in the career and craft development of the people in your organization. You'll be responsible for building the QA organization on the project from the ground up, through shipping the title, and long into its future.

RESPONSIBILITIES
LEADERSHIP AND STRATEGY
- Drive cross-discipline alignment around Quality at the project leadership level (setting a quality bar together, measuring it, and holding the product accountable to hitting it)
- Build a healthy QA organization and culture that aligns to the project and Bungie as a whole
- Create and Execute on a Test strategy for the project that allows the leadership team to understand and act on the quality of the product at any point in time
- Collaborate with your peers on the project leadership team to build project direction and values, and create process that supports sustainable development
- Drive understanding and alignment around the purpose and value of QA on your product
- Transform cross-discipline leaders into partners in upstream quality ownership by focusing on holistic development pipeline health instead of end-of-the-line testing
- Build and execute on staffing and organizational strategies that align with your project team's business goals, that scale well, and that account for a sustainable live-service post launch
- Run an OKR and KPI-driven organization, setting goals, evaluating progress at regular intervals, and holding the team accountable
- Set the direction for the project's SDET team and collaborate with them to build tools and automation that produce a more effective QA team
- Develop and nurture healthy, effective relationships with cross-discipline directors and senior leadership teams across your project
MANAGEMENT
- Actively manage and mentor Senior QA Leads and their reports on your project including regular 1:1s, goal setting, and growth planning
- Collaborate with Discipline Managers to grow management capabilities of managers within your organization
- Contribute to the refinement of the QA hiring process with the goal of building skilled teams with diverse perspectives
- Collaborate with Discipline Managers to establish and iterate on an early-in-career training and development program for new Test FTEs (Full Time Employees)
- Equip managers in your org with the tools and training for supporting healthy and effective teams
- Lead by example in displaying positive intent, practicing curiosity, and supportive warmth
- Cultivate organizational morale by investing in career growth opportunities, project and QA discipline morale events and strategies, and an open-door policy for candid feedback
CRAFT
- Establish and maintain quality assurance standards and practices attuned to the needs of the business (examples: engineered approach, automation, data validation, value-based testing, scoping/costing frameworks and metrics)
- Identify inefficiencies and ineffective process within Test workflows or approaches, build solutions, and drive change at an organizational level
- Work with the Test Architect to integrate studio-wide Test strategies with the bespoke needs of your project
- Partner with the Test Discipline Managers and Test Architects to develop training initiatives and mentorship programs that grow Test Craft capabilities across the project
- Collaborate with the Head of Test and other Senior Test Discipline leaders to develop, align, and evangelize Bungie’s Test strategies at the company level
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Experience successfully leading a Test organization of medium-large size for a AAA, live, service-based, game
- Growth mindset fueled by humility and curiosity
- Excellent collaborator and partner who responds well to feedback
- Ability to wield influence to gain alignment across large groups of stakeholders
- Capable of driving and sustaining change across medium to large organizations (hundreds of people)
- Success building organizations and staffing in support of product plans with tightly constrained budgets
- Proficient at translating strategies into plans of action with clear success criteria
- Experience partnering with Engineers and SDETs to create and utilize technologies that make testing more effective
- Exceptional communicator with the ability to clearly present high-level strategies and implementation details
- Motivated to build and foster inclusive, welcoming environments

- 20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position
- 10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date
- 10 paid Bungie-observed holidays annually
- One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours worked
